🪐 Proxima Centauri
A R&D exploration focusing on a red dwarf star, dust simulations, and dynamic stellar amplitudes.
Rendered in Houdini, the system is inspired by Proxima Centauri, the closest known star to the Sun — yet still about 4.24 light-years away. With our current propulsion technologies, it would take over 80,000 years to reach.
This project reflects on both the technical and philosophical aspects of space travel:
Is it ever going to be possible to reach even more distant stars?
Meanwhile, the simulation dives into volumetric dust behavior, glowing plasma shells, and stellar oscillations — all imagined through the lens of visual effects.
